Project Location:

Wuhu,Anhui Province

Site Area:

83,196㎡

Building Area:

116,226㎡

Client:

Wuhu Railway Project Construction Coordination Leading Group Office
Well-known for its landscape culture and beautiful sceneries, Wuhu is precisely described with the words “half-mountain and half-water”. Based on local landscape as its prototype, the square design of this project adopts the subtle wave patterns for the overall mechanism of the square surface, and, combined with the surrounding station, commercial complex and other large-massing buildings, it has created a well-arranged layout, just like the clustering of mountains nearby. Seen from the perspectives of the urban location and the fifth elevation, its design layout exactly manifests the description of “half-mountain and half-water”.
The project consists of station square, underground space, entrance/exit elevated platform & ramp, bus station, bus station rainshed, tourist transport centre, etc. As a comprehensive supporting facility serving passengers arriving at the railway station and a transportation hub aiming at 3D transfer and comprehensive development, it has perfectly integrated transportation functions (such as urban square, bus, coach, tourism, taxi and social shuttle bus), catering functions and supporting commercial functions.
Based on the overall spatial scheme and following the principle of “fast in/fast out, and effective split flow”, the road network structure of this area is optimized to construct a smooth and independent external through traffic system, a fast in/fast out arrival and departure hub traffic system and a balanced internal traffic relief system, to highlight the convenient arrival of the transportation hub and ensure non-interference among various subsystems.
The underground commercial space can effectively improve the business credit of this region, build the consumption confidence of urban residents, and induce their active consumption. That is, not only passengers will engage in temporary consumptions at the railway station, but also urban residents living nearby will become the backbone consumers (It will be developed together with the commerce on the opposite side of the railway station as an urban sub-centre).
