Wangjing SOHO is a large-size commercial complex project invested by Beijing Wangjing SOHO Real Estate Co., Ltd. and jointly designed and completed by CCDI and the well-known Zaha Hadid. Occupying a land area of 115,392m2 and a total planned construction area of 521,265m3, it consists of three high-rise buildings integrating office and commercial functions and three low-rise commercial buildings, the tallest of which is 200m in height.

Architectural design

Architectural design:
• Designed by a unique outline, the project consists of three towers leaning close to each other and forming a free and dynamic form, creating the visual effect of three hills setting off one another when looking up at it and providing the appearance of koi carps playing around in a pool
•The unique curved-surface modeling provides a dynamic and elegant sense of beauty from any angle of the building. The towers are covered on the outside with white curved-surface aluminum panels and ultra-white glass, thus adding radiance and beauty to each other with the blue sky.
•Under the premise of retaining its dynamic architectural modeling, we have strived to increase the utilization rate and spatial availability of the project, reduce its construction difficulties, etc

Structural design

Structural design:
• Adoption of variable-slope concrete-filled steel-tubular columns and tabular joints to perfectly embody the elegantly-modeled and rationally-created functional space of the architecture;
• Adoption of multi-curvature-variable triangular tube truss arch structure on the roof to set off by contrast the surface of the architecture, thus creating different visual experience for the roof space;
• Adoption of concrete-filled steel-tubular column-steel girder-reinforced concrete shear wall-steel girder profiled sheeting-concrete composite slab structure system to fully satisfy the architectural form demands of irregular, asymmetric and vertical alternate changes;
• Innovation of structural design to achieve architectural safety, economical performance and aesthetic appearance and promote the advancement of construction technology.

M&E design

M&E design:
Building area: 520,000m2
1) Water supply and drainage
• Collection of high-quality domestic miscellaneous drainage from office area and the sewage drained by the air conditioning and cooling systems, and use of condensed water for toilet flushing, car washing, greening and landscape watering after treatment;
• Building of a rainwater recycling reservoir in the expropriated green land, and use of rainwater for greening, floor flushing and so forth after treatment.
2) Heating and ventilation
• Consideration of the retail characteristic of SOHO office and commerce by unit model in air conditioning design, and adaptation to the flexibility of the renting of office units in the late stage;
• Consideration of the operational time difference among different SOHO units, and equipment of secondary pump and duty pumps for the air conditioning water systems of commercial and office buildings to reduce the transmission energy consumption by pumps.
3) Electrical design
• Layout of relatively independent power supply and distribution systems based on the different business type demands in the project, the property management pattern adopted and the plane layout of the architecture;
• Setting of independent measurement units based on the functional orientation and spatial layout of tenants (commerce, office, etc.).

Green building

Green building:
• Adoption of LEED-CS (Silver) as the design objective
