With the strengthening of Shenzhen-Hongkong exchanges, the renovation of Wenjindu Port, located in Luohu District of Shenzhen, seems to be increasingly urgent. In this project, the main body of the immigration control building is erected on uniquely-arranged site facilities, just like three open shell valves; two accesses facing Shenzhen and Hong Kong are opened for service, presenting a “passage” layout. The shell is covered outside by smooth lines, imbued with tension and a sense of speed; its overall modeling embodies its architectural nature as a port, just like an “accelerator” of Shenzhen-Hongkong exchanges. The project consists of immigration control building, parking building and related inspection site. Our design of the port area is practical, as it solves the problems of trafficability, efficiency and transportation accountability; it is also ecological, as it emphasizes natural ventilation, lighting and sun shading.
