Xinyang East Railway Station Integrated Transportation Hub consists of the transportation facilities matched with the railway station building and the passenger service facilities. To be specific, the transportation facilities include underground passenger entrance/exit transfer facilities, coach station complex, urban bus/urban-rural bus station complex, bus/passenger car pick-up/drop-off system and municipal bridge and supporting pedestrian underpass. To support the use of the railway station and guarantee its construction schedule and based on a comprehensive consideration of economical performance and rationality, the entire architecture is constructed by two phases, i.e., Phase I transportation hub area and Phase II commercial area, the former of which occupies a building area of about 144,700㎡ and the latter of which occupies a building area of about 174,700㎡.
Located under the station square, the station underground hub project occupies a total building area of about 319,500㎡, and has two stories. The main functions of the station square and underground hub include passenger transport & pedestrian square, bus station, coach station, social vehicle station, taxi station and supporting passenger service facilities. The design has realized the organic connections of multiple means of transportation, implemented the spirit of “land saving, green transportation, human orientation and scientific development”, and created a medium-sized integrated passenger transportation hub.
